Prevent Child Abuse Mississippi is Mississippi's only statewide child abuse prevention organization. Working with the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Children's Safe Center, PCA Mississippi seeks to provide intervention and assessment services for children who are suspected victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect.

Our Mission

We empower individuals and communities to stop child abuse and neglect before it starts through education, advocacy and family support.

Our Goals

  • To raise public awareness of child abuse and its effects
  • To actively seek the prevention of abuse and neglect
  • To educate children and their parents on the cycle of abuse and neglect

Pinwheel Gardens help raise awareness as part of PCAMS's Pinwheels for Prevention campaign. Each pinwheel represents one of the 40,000 babies expected to be born in our state this year -- and represents the belief that getting it right early in childhood is less costly than trying to turn around and fix problems when the child is older.

How Will You Spread Kindness?

A person is a person, no matter how small.
Darkness to Light

Darkness to Light - Stewards of Children is training offered to community organizations and agencies that service today's youth. The 2.5 hour training course brings awareness to the issue of child sexual abuse and strategies for prevention, and it offers lay people and professionals alike both the knowledge of what child sexual abuse is and the skills to know what to do if presented with a child in that situation.
